2022 Porsche TAG Heuer Esports Supercup on iRacing: Season Preview

It’s that time again: the Porsche TAG Heuer Esports Supercup on iRacing enters its fourth season, and first with the current-generation Porsche 911 GT3 Cup (992) model, with a kickoff event at the Hockenheimring on Saturday. 35 of the world’s best sim racers will do battle over a 10-race season for their share of a $200,000 prize pool. Event broadcasts can be seen on Saturdays at 1PM ET at twitch.tv/Porsche.

A challenging 2022 schedule will see the best road racers in the sim racing world take on the most prominent racing circuits on the planet. From the opening event in Hockenheim to the June 4 season finale at Monza, nearly every circuit on the schedule either currently hosts, or has previously hosted, championship events for the biggest series in the world. The full schedule is as follows:

  • February 5: Hockenheimring Baden-Württemberg
  • February 19: Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya
  • March 5: To be announced
  • March 19: Silverstone Circuit
  • March 26: Red Bull Ring
  • April 9: Circuit Gilles Villeneuve
  • April 23: Circuit de Spa-Francorchamps
  • May 7: Nürburgring Gesamtstrecke
  • May 21: Circuit des 24 Heures du Mans
  • June 4: Autodromo Nazionale Monza

The third round of the championship will be determined by a fan vote, with Watkins Glen, Long Beach, Interlagos, and the Hungaroring serving as the four options. To vote, visit motorsports.porsche.com and make your selection.

A refreshed driver lineup for the 2022 season is led by former series champion Sebastian Job of Red Bull Racing Esports and longtime front runners like Kevin Ellis Jr. and Jamie Fluke of Apex Racing Team. They’ll be joined by the returns of eNASCAR Coca-Cola iRacing Series Championship 4 regular Bobby Zalenski and Force Dynamics Dallara iRacing Grand Prix Series champion Peter Berryman, as well as a host of talented series newcomers and returnees who earned their way in through the Contender Series that ran in the fall. Joining the professional sim racers in each broadcast once again will be a talented fleet of celebrity racers and Twitch streamers, with names like Jimmy Broadbent, Matt Malone, Emree, Borja Zazo, and many others joined by real-world racers like Porsche Junior Laurin Heinrich and Indianapolis 500 winner Tony Kanaan. The celebrity events will take place prior to the Supercup rounds on the same circuits, and often feature some of the most exciting head-to-head battles of each event.
