2020-21 iRacing World of Outlaws Sprint Car World Championship Set to Kick Off

It’s been just six months since the last edition of the iRacing World of Outlaws NOS Energy Sprint Car World Championship saw its final checkered flag at The Dirt Track at Charlotte Motor Speedway, but fans of iRacing’s premier dirt oval series are getting an early Christmas present. The series shifts to a winter model for its 2020-21 season, and the first green flag drops on November 9 at 9PM ET with the traditional opener at Volusia Speedway Park, airing free to all on DirtVision.

Two-time defending series champion Alex Bergeron is back, but he’ll have a deep field to take on if he wants to defend his title. Top challengers James Edens and Kendal Tucker lead a traditionally deep Swindell Speedlab Esports lineup, while last season’s breakout driver, Braden Eyler, is back to build on his results from last season. Add in 2020 iRacing World of Outlaws Morton Buildings Late Model World Champion Hayden Cardwell and inaugural Sprint Car World Champion Tim Ryan to the mix, and the caliber of this year’s field is the highest ever. The 35 drivers who have earned their way into the championship combine to represent 13 US states, three Australian states, and two Canadian provinces.

It’s fitting, then, that for the first time in series history, all 10 rounds on the championship calendar will be staged at different tracks. Aside from Volusia, Williams Grove Speedway and The Dirt Track at Charlotte will retain their typical spots as the final two rounds on the calendar, while visits to the prestigious Knoxville Raceway and Eldora Speedway will be among the most hotly contested of the year. The series also welcomes Weedsport Speedway, iRacing’s newest dirt track, for the first time on December 21, in the final race before the calendar turns over to 2021.

The 2020-21 iRacing World of Outlaws NOS Energy Sprint Car World Championship schedule is as follows:
