iRacing IMSA Road America

The latest round of the iRacing IMSA Sportscars comes from Road America.

I qualified 5th a few tenths of the pole which set up a good starting position for the race.  Half of the field was separated by a second which will make for good close racing.

The race started well,  I was able to get a good start and position myself with a clear run into turn 1 and 2.  I made a good pass at the end of the straight into the 1st gear corner.  Unfortunately, I was hit under the bridge and lost a number of positions.  I was lucky the car wasn’t badly damaged.

On a subsequent lap was punted off the track on the outside of turn 1 and lost a number of positions.  I was able to claw my way back to 7th using the undercut.  It wasn’t a bad race but I could’ve finished higher up it wasn’t for a couple of incidents.
