The first race from the 2019 Epiroc Sprint Series brought to you by GT Leagues Australia comes from the hot and tricky race circuit at Sonoma. This my first season with GT Leagues Australia.
I had an eventful qualy session with my youngest son thinking its a great idea to hang off Daddy’s arm while his trying to post a qualifying time. This meant I ended up at the rear of the field essentially (Not that I think my pace was good for much better) In the field of of 48 GTE cars I managed to qualify 45.
The start of the race was pretty eventful with a couple of cars spinning up front. Somehow I managed to get stuck in a 3 wide situation and ended up clipping Luiz Gallon which caused a chain reaction on the first lap which lead to the only safety car period of the race.
I ended up pitting late and with taking advantage of some mistakes I finished in 32nd position.
