This weeks racing in the iRacing Blancpain Sprint comes from Twin Ring Motegi which is a nice technical race track located in Asia. The circuit has many double apex corners and mid-speed corners which provides a lot of overtaking opportunities and the wide nature of the circuit makes it fairly forgiving if you drive over the limit.
Twin Ring Motegi Qualifying
Qualifying went fairly well with the first flying lap netting me the second position but as everyone finished their second flying laps I slipped down the order to seventh but was really happy with that result seeing there was a number of Division One drivers in the field.
The race went really well, I was in a battle with two other drivers and this went on into the pitstop phase of the race. After the pitstop, I came out in sixth place and was under a lot of pressure from behind. In the closing stages of the race I was overtaken in a three-wide situation which somehow ended well and then the two cars in front laps later had an incident which moved me to back up into seventh. Really happy with the result and hopefully a sign of things to come this week.
