The last round of the iRacing Blancpain Sprint Series comes from Road America, Elkhart Lake. This one awesome race track with 14 varied corners ranging from fast flowing to slow corners and three long straights make for good passing and drafting. There was a good field of GT3’s with the top 10 drivers separated by less than a second.
The iRacing Blancpain Sprint Series allows for two laps for qualifying with the fastest lap being counted for your grid position. Overall I was pretty happy with qualifying sixth and sitting less than a second from pole position.
I got a good jump on the rolling start and by the end of the first turn, I moved up into the third position. For the next few laps, I was sitting around a couple of seconds from the lead with the two drivers up front battling away. The leaders ended up getting into each other and swooped on the opportunity to make my way into second place. This where I stayed by the end of the race ending up four seconds off the lead. Overall it was a good race without any major incident.
